Plage de la Gravette
Surrounded by the stone walls of Antibes, Plage de la Gravette is a small enclosed beach that is separated from the bustling town by walls and two jetties. Usually this beach is packed in the afternoon with sunbathers and families; late evening this is a great place for music lovers or to enjoy the sunset. Known as one of the most beautiful public beaches in Antibes, Plage de la Gravette is a great place to experience.
Plage Des Ondes
Located on the west side of Antibes, adjacent to La Garoupe, is Plage Des Ondes. This is a public beach that is primarily used by locals. Although there are beach showers, there is no food service there. Lastly, Plage des Ondes has a good view of the Esterel mountains in the distance.
Known for its casinos, nightclubs and of course its fine-grained sandy beaches, Juan-les-Pins is popular among international travelers. Most of the coastline is fringed by beaches. However much of the shoreline is taken up by private restaurants. If you are considering a visit and don’t like crowds, try to select a time other than April thru September; it is during this time Parisians visit in mass.
Plage de Ponteil
Plage de Ponteil is west of central Antibes, on a long curve of silky, white sand. The waters of the bay are calm and sheltered from harsh winds. Also the water is shallow for quite some distance, which is safe for kids. If you are into water sports, you can rent kayaks, paddle-boats or learn to sail there.
Plage de la Garoupe
Near the town of Antibes is Plage de la Garoupe. This place is popular among the locals as well as those on holiday. Visitors will enjoy the warn water and beautiful views. La Garoupe faces in a northeast direction which gives a gentler sunbathing experience than other beaches in the area.
Plage de la Salis
Plage de la Salis is a popular local beach near the Antibes Yacht Club. Like Pontell, it’s a long stretch of beach that is composed of fine, white sand. As for facilities, the beach has showers , lifeguard post and a reserved area for people with limited mobility. With its azure waters and white sands, Plage de la Salis is an outstanding beach to experience. If you plan to visit, August is the most crowed time to see the French Riviera.
