Are you looking for a great place to vacation, consider Banff National Park. This park of 2,564 square miles is located a few miles west of Calgary, Alberta, in the Canadian Rocky mountains. Visiting outdoor-enthusiast will appreciate the  breathtaking views of the mountains, meadows, glaciers, lakes and waterfalls.

Banff is home to a diverse wildlife population; The most common wildlife found are Deer, Elk, Bighorn Sheep and Caribou; some of the more elusive include Mountain lions and Moose. Other species found there include: Wolves, Coyotes Black Bears & Grizzlies.

As for the weather, the summer months in Canada are usually mild. July is considered to be the warmest month, with an average temperature of 71 degrees. During the winter months, the  temperature drops drastically, with  January being the coldest month.

The main town in the area is Banff, located near the Sulfur and Tunnel Mountains. This city offers various attractions including festivals, nightlife activities & restaurants, cultural exhibits, nature tours and of course outdoor adventures. Although the town is rather small, it handles up to 50,000 visitors a day during the busy season.

Banff National Park is a haven for nature enthusiast and adventures alike. With the various attractions, restaurants and accommodations to choose from, there is something for almost any one.  In addition to Banff’s natural beauty, be sure to keep your eyes open for a Moose, Grizzly or Caribou sighting.
